Time is evidence. Every timestamp in a legal proceeding, every audit trail in a compliance review, every forensic artefact in a court case depends on time being accurate and trustworthy. But who controls the clocks? NTP servers can be spoofed. System clocks can be manipulated. Cloud provider timestamps are controlled by the provider, not by you. The Veil module implements sovereign time verification — absolute time that does not depend on any external authority. It cross-references multiple independent time sources, applies cryptographic verification, and produces sovereign timestamps that are mathematically provable regardless of what any individual clock says. When a KEPOS artefact carries a Veil timestamp, that timestamp is not an assertion. It is a proof. It cannot be disputed in court because it does not depend on any single authority that could be compromised, compelled, or corrupted.
